Meet the 2025 Farm Crew
Kristen Muehlhauser
Kristen (she/her) came to farming via community gardening after a decade working in healthcare as a registered nurse. Before moving to the farm in 2018, she was seen hauling preschoolers around Ann Arbor in her cargo bike and learning from her wonderful neighbors how to grow vegetables. She loves taking her kids on adventures, enjoys hiking (but is a wimpy camper), and plays guitar badly and enthusiastically with friends. She knows the farm is a gift and aspires to leave it better than she found it for whoever follows.
Kristen and Adam have been married since 2007, which is the year they moved to the Arbor-Ypsi area. They parent a small tribe of three wild children, currently ages 12, 11, and 3. Kristen would love to grow ALL the things with her kids— elderberries, willow, apple trees, chickens, pigs, raspberries, fish, etc etc. But she has learned that sometimes one has to focus on what is really important for the sake of sanity! The kids are currently lobbying hard for kittens, and who can resist kittens?
Meredith
Meredith is a recovering tenured service industry worker with five seasons (in one form or another) at Raindance under her belt. A background in architecture and design and her lifetime of experiences allow her to share a variety of skills with any team she’s involved with. Meredith enjoys getting her hands dirty and truly enjoys sharing knowledge and learning about the life experiences of those around her.
Meredith spends most of her time with her preschooler and toddler doing art projects, blowing bubbles, visiting with neighbors or catching frogs down at the pond behind her house. She shares her home with her partner and her mother - a true multi-generational experience. When she’s able to carve out time for herself, she enjoys drawing, sewing, listening to podcasts and in a rare moment having her own personal dance party.
Adam Muehlhauser
Adam (he/him) is a father of three, a loving spouse, a former rust-prevention engineer, a woodworker, and an old machine rehabilitator. In the summer of 2024 he made the radical choice to leave his corporate career to work full-time on the farm, and he dug in right away to start building hoophouses on the new land. In his free time he maintains the farm, makes hearty breakfasts, reads books to children for hours, gives toddlers tractor rides, repairs farm irrigation systems, builds new tools, and plays sports here and there.
Caitlin
Caitlin is an Ann Arbor native and beekeeper, who we are so lucky to have on the farm this year. Caitlin has her own hoophouse at home, and grows tons of beautiful flowers too! She recently added an adorable puppy named Fern to her family.
Roman
Roman moved from Russia to the United States in 2022. He has an education in economics and law. Before moving, he worked with government agencies in archival work and in the retail sector. Two years ago, he started working on farms and quickly developed a passion for this field. He has always enjoyed working with his hands. Currently, Roman and Adam are building high tunnels and farm infrastructure in between planting flowers and day-to-day farmwork. He is very grateful to have made friends among farmers.
