We have received 32 applications in less than 2 hours and are overwhelmed (in a good way!) by all of the amazing people who are interested in harvesting flowers. Thank you for your interest. I am sorry we cannot hire you all! We hope we can connect in another way as the farm grows.
Would you like to join us?
Farm Description
Since 2018 Raindance Farm has existed to serve our community by growing great organic produce and cut flowers, and by connecting children and adults with the beauty of nature and the gifts of wellness. We currently steward 44 acres of land and intensively cultivate only a few acres of cut flowers for local markets. This season we do not have plans to grow produce in quantity; we are wholly focused on flowers.

Job Description
This position is made for someone who loves nature, weather, outdoor work, and flowers. It is very part-time, and may be a great side job for any number of people who do not need corporate benefits at work.
You will be trained in how to harvest and bunch a variety of specialty cut flowers. On a regular morning, you will arrive to a quiet farm, wash some buckets, and spend a few hours in the field and greenhouses, harvesting and bunching blooms.
We truly love working outdoors, getting in our fresh air and exercise for the day. If this sounds like you, please let us know. Farming is really hard work, so we don’t want to romanticize it too much. Sometimes the outdoors is uncomfortably hot or cold, or mosquitoes swarm, or there is squatting and bending involved.
But overall, harvesting flowers at Raindance is pretty lovely work and we often find people volunteering to do it unpaid! But we want everyone’s time to be valued and financially compensated, and we’d be excited to find 1-2 local folks who would like to join our team as harvest assistants this season.
Successful Flower Harvesters Often…
Have experience with gardening, farming, or working with cut flowers
Or, have previous experience spending hours outdoors doing physical activity, whether playing sports, backpacking, etc
Are highly motivated by the mission of stewarding our environment with passion and care
Are early morning kind of people who genuinely enjoy getting things done at 7am
Are able to move in a focused way through a list of harvest tasks with an eye toward efficiency and planning for what is next
Are capable of lifting buckets of flowers for short periods of time into wagons, golf carts, and coolers
Are comfortable squatting or bending to harvest flowers, and comfortable with using snippers or harvest knives
Enjoy being physically active outdoors through the seasons’ weather changes
Hold a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
